Description
Summary:The report presents the findings of a statewide study of secondary and postsecondary schools in Pennsylvania. The overall objective was to determine the extent to which these institutions were cooperating and sharing programs, faculty, and facilities in the offering of vocational programs. Seven vocational institutional types were surveyed: area vocational technical schools, comprehensive high schools, public community colleges, private junior colleges, nondegree granting proprietary schools, associate degree granting proprietary schools, and senior colleges and universities. Several hundred individual institutions were contracted by mail and/or telephone. Findings indicated that while some cooperative vocational program activities are going on, the potential for such activities is barely tapped. Recommendations for future cooperative programs are offered. Appendixes offer the cover letter, a flow diagram of the study, a questionnaire form, and a listing of the participating institutions.
