It begins with some shortened versions of discussions held with single parents and with children of one-parent families. Despite financial and personal setbacks that have resulted from their loss of parent or mate, these people feel that they have made a good adjustment and have succeded in coping with many of the problems associated with "one-parent families." The last part of the booklet summarizes what the problem areas are, suggests ways to obtain help through the initial period of adjustment and difficulty; presents an example of a plan of action; and offers some practical advice on the adoption of sensible attitudes for single parents and their children.
