Summary:Part 1 of the home economics curriculum guide for grades 7-12 provides a brief program description and concise diagrams depicting the overview chart, course charts for grades 7-8 and grades 9-12, and models for semester courses. Part 2 presents detailed unit plans, which include unit descriptions, credit values, minimum class times, prerequisites, and lists of various performance objectives, organized by grade for grades 7 and 8, and by subject matter for grades 9-12. Sample topics for grades 7 and 8 are home living, sewing, foods, and crafts. For grades 9-12 the broad subject headings are: clothing and textiles (12 units); foods and nutrition (8 units); human development (11 units); housing and home furnishings (4 units); and consumer economics and home management (4 units). Four units on related occupations (child development, occupational food service, and sewing for profit) are also included. (JR)
