The areas of investigation cover the general learning environment, selected characteristics of a learning environment, achievement, cost, a summary of findings, and recommendations. Also included are a survey of student opinion, a study of senior high attendance, a survey of teacher experience at one school, and an assessment of advantages/disadvantages of the scheduling method. It is recommended that flexible-modular scheduling not be continued in its present form. Rather, undesirable features should be eliminated and highly valued features should be retained if possible. The resulting schedule will likely hold little flexibility in terms of unscheduled student time, but should provide capabilities to retain high priority characteristics of a good learning environment.
