The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) conducted this survey for the purpose of identifying and interpreting trends in the use of computers in registrar and admissions activities. This survey serves to update the status of events reported in the 1966-67 survey and to broaden the base of inquiry. Specifically, the intent of the survey was to seek answers to questions regarding (1) the trend in utilization of computers; (2) the kinds of computer equipment being utilized; (3) how they are being used; and (4) the patterns and problems of management associated with use of computers. The survey was conducted by means of a questionnaire administered to 1646 AACRAO member institutions in November 1969; responses were received from 1477 institutions.
