Summary: | Contained in this report are the results of a telephone survey conducted among 961 households in the television market for Bowling Green, Ohio. The purpose of the survey was to determine the characteristics of the viewing audience for WBGU. WBGU--owned by Bowling Green State University--became the public television station for a 19-county area in northwest Ohio in March 1973. The survey indicates that WBGU-TV attracted one out of ten households throughout the expanded viewing area after its power was expanded. In those areas reached by WBGU-TV before its power was increased, more than 15 percent of the households were weekly viewers. The audience expanded despite lack of familiarity with the station in previously unreached areas, UHF channel location, and reception problems related to incorrect antenna orientation. (The results of this survey are presented in both narrative and table format.) (RB) |
