Description
Abstract:J. Robert Oppenheimer was an American genius. Father of the atomic bomb, he ended the WWII single-handedly, and was then shunned by the government for communist ties. Lewis Carroll was a genius of the imagination, even though he was a mathematician by trade. He gave us Wonderland, a place that even he could not imagine would live on so long. Joan of Arc was a genius of religion---an illiterate peasant girl from Domremy who succeeded where the entire French army had failed for over 75 years. And Steve Prefontaine ran for the University of Oregon in the 1970s. He held every American distance record from the three-mile to the 10,000. He was a genius of running, pain, and the American spirit. These four people are explored in a tall-tale, magical realist light, the only light that will allow their true genius to shine. They were the best at what they did and their genius is put on display for everyone to cherish, gawk, and revel in.
