Abstract: | The two-dimensional discrete ordinates code DOT using an S/sub 8/ angular quadrature and the three-dimensional Monte Carlo code MORSE were each used to calculate the spatial dependences of the nuclear heating rates and neutron and gamma-ray scalar flux distributions in the injector. In the three-dimensional analysis, these data were estimated at several locations in a detailed model of the injector using accurate neutron and gamma-ray energy, spatial, and angular distributions to describe the radiation sources incident on the injector.
