Abstract:	A recent comment of Peter Wohlfarth in Phys. Rev. Letters concerning Eib and Alvardo's results from a spin polarized photoelectron study of the (100) surface of nickel and questions of Coulomb and crystal field shifts of surface atoms are discussed.
