Summary:Bulletins containing educational statistics for 1923-24 have been issued and cover the following topic areas: (1) State School Systems (1925, No. 42); (2) City School Systems (1925, No. 41); (3) Public High Schools (1925, No. 40); (4) Private High Schools and Academies (1925, No. 23); (5) Kindergartens (1925, No. 20); (6) Teachers Colleges and Normal Schools (1925, No. 28); and (7) Universities, Colleges, and Professional Schools (1925, No. 45). This report attempts to give brief summaries of the statistics presented in all of the above-named bulletins, and discusses a few of the outstanding issues: (1) Enrollments in various types of schools; (2) Per capita costs; (3&4) Historical summaries concerning gifts and endowments to education; (5) Distribution of teachers by sex and type of school; (6) Enrollments by type of school, by 5-year periods from 1890-1924; and (7) Classification of enrollments in elementary schools, high schools, teacher-training institutions and colleges.
