Description
Abstract:Contour gage chucking mechanisms when chucked exert an extraneous force on the contour of parts tested. The evaluation of these forces showed no significant change in part contour and greater repeatability at higher chucking torques. The torque wrench used to torque the gage chucking mechanism, however, was determined to be inaccurate and was replaced with a torque wrench of greater accuracy. The gage is computer operated and provides a printout with test disposition for each part tested.
