Summary: | From the perspective of international students themselves, this paper identifies both internal and external barriers that impede the formation of friendships between international students and their Canadian counterparts across Canada's post-secondary campuses. Shedding light on why international students do not make friends with Canadian students in greater numbers, this paper presents a number of recommendations that can be drawn on by institutions, policy makers and other stakeholders to support greater international student integration. This is an excerpt of a longer piece, published in "A World of Learning 2014." |
