|a The H/sub 2/ reduction rates and apparent activation energies were determined for unhydrated UO/sub 3/ and for hot-slurry, dough-mixer, and cold-mix UO/sub 3/ hydrates in the temperature range of 450 to 540 deg C. The specific reaction rates for hydrates were consistently greater than those of the corresponding unhydrated trioxides. An increase in apparent activation energy was found on hydration. (auth)
