Abstract: | A motoring investigation was made on a full-scale double-row radial aircraft engine to determine the magnitude of charge-air weight variations among the cylinders and the factors contributing to these variations. Charge-air distribution patterns were obtained from measurements of the maximum compression pressures in the individual cylinders at various operating conditions with the cylinder intake ports open to the atmosphere and with the complete engine. |
