This reflective case report presents a reflection on the experiences of two academics who have been using online technology to collect (1) cross-sectional primary data through an anonymous global survey on mental health during COVID-19 and (2) secondary data via systematic searches of the business and marketing literature. We will now walk you through our contrasting demonstrations to showcase some of the peaks and troughs associated with collecting different types of data using online methods as well as to draw some parallels that we cogitate as shared across disciplines and methodologies beyond that of our own.
