Description
Item Description:Report of a joint special committee of the Massachusetts legislature, signed at end by Seth Sprague, Chairman; and "Resolves respecting the claim of Massachusetts upon the United States for military service." A resolution notes "that the claim of the Commonwealth for military services rendered in the years one thousand eight hundred and thirteen and fourteen, having been provided for by law and partly paid in the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty, and the balance acknowledged to be due under provisions of that act, having since, by order of Congress, been ascertained and reported by the Secretary of War, the payment cannot longer be delayed without great injustice and disregard of the acknowledged rights of this Commonwealth."
