The tropicalized funk, supported by the saxophones of Shabaka Hutchings and Jazon Yarde, immerses the audience in a fiery copper atmosphere from the very beginning. Roger Raspail on percussion drives the Guadeloupian gwoka and co-signs the first and third track. Between songs, Anthony Joseph explains to the camera his choice to explore the Caribbean matrix music, calypso. He recites and sings about his roots, going back to the rhythms of cadence, zouk, reggae, and history. There are also political ramifications. He chants the words, ""Our history is not colonialism and slavery, our history is our struggle against colonialism and slavery."Halfway through the film, he dedicates the poem ""Powerful Peace"" to the Trinidad and Tobago drummer Courtney Jones, who died suddenly and who was to record the album. He says it took him 20 years to recognize himself as a poet and to now know how to earn this title, which he realizes is incumbent on him. **Marion Paoli**".
