Publication was suspended after the appearance of volume 4 and resumed according to an act passed March 10, 1819, which increased the subscription, on behalf of the state, from 150 to 800 copies, but made no provision for completing the sets with the first 4 volumes An act passed January 24, 1823, provided for a 2nd edition of volume 1-4 to complete the sets. compare Preface to 2d edition.
