Summary:Report submitted by the Ohio Board of Public works in response to a resolution of the Senate, requesting information about the National Road, including the amount of money due to contractors and others, amounts of stone or gravel purchased and their price, amounts paid to contractors, the number of persons employed as "day's men" and the amount paid to them, the number of deputies employed by the resident engineer or superintendent, plus pay they received, and the amount due on the road. Answers in narrative and tabular form supplied by current and previous resident engineers, John Yontz and John Patterson, are part of the report.
