The reader is provided with examples for interpretation, and can draw in the structures using the software provided. There is also a set of interactive self-assessment questions. In all, the multi-media software suite comprises more than twelve hours of material. Separation, Purification and Identification concludes with a Case Study on Forensic Science, in which illustrations of criminal cases where spectroscopic techniques provided evidence are given.
