In the Senate of the United States. October 19, 1877. -- Mr. Morrill submitted the following resolution, which was considered and agreed to: "Resolved, that the Committee on Pensions be instructed to report, by bill or otherwise, reducing and properly adjusting the salaries and fees of pension agents, and that they also inquire into the expediency of abolishing all pension agencies, and providing hereafter for the payment of pensions at the Treasury of the United States."
