Summary:A study was conducted to determine the prevalence of educable mentally retarded, behaviorally disturbed, and learning disabled students in Georgia schools. The research involved two phases: Phase 1, in which students were identified; and Phase 2, in which the original identifications were confirmed. Among findings were that of the total numbers of students enrolled in Georgia public schools during the 1975-76 academic year, 3.1% were behaviorally disturbed, 2.9% were educable mentally retarded, and 4.3% were learning disabled.
