Students were given lists of possibilities to choose from but they were free to select any text, as long as they felt it related to course content (reading education). Time was allowed during the semester for each student to share his/her book with the whole class. Students were also encouraged to comment when their text's content related to class discussion. Materials are included that provide the list of titles chosen by the students, their reasons for their choice, the resource lists offered to them as suggestions, and a report form that could be used in class.
