Evidence of test bias has been demonstrated in the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised based on traditional test bias definitions. Reports of preliminary studies have shown that the SOMPA test has brought racial and cultural balance to systems which previously had overrepresented minorities. Steps in securing an intellectual assessment of estimated learning potential are outlined. (PHR)
