Summary: | The 68 entries, with publication dates from 1935 throught 1965, are arranged alphabetically by author and annotated to highlight the findings on family and occupational choice even though these may not have been the major findings of a given study. General studies of aspiration and achievement motivation, specific occupational choice investigations, and work on educational aspiration and achievement are included when they have findings on family influence, since these processes are seen as closely related to occupational choice. The bibliography is more sociological than psychological in its orientation. It deals with those influences that are more group related than individual in their origin. It was compiled in the course of designing and executing an exploratory research project on the socialization processes in the family as it relates to occupational role. (fp) |
