Zatoichi, the blind masseur and wandering gambler, stumbles upon a gang of thieves huddled over a dying man. A request by the dying man leads Zatoichi to a blind priest. Zatoichi eventually winds up in Ichinomiya, a town overrun with gangsters. Here Zatoichi discovers bloodshed and death.
