Greeting [electronic resource] : Whereas the General Assembly of this state, in May 1782, granted a rate or tax of one penny on the pound, to be levied and collected on all the polls and rateable estates of this state. according to the list brought into assembly in October, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-two, and March, 1783, to be collected and paid into the treasury of this state, by the first day of March, one thousand seven hundred and eighty three.
